To enable a complete examination of the colon, your doctor requires your colon to be clear. You will be given instructions (see Preparation for Colonoscopy), some dietary modifications are made several days before and the day before the procedure you will be required to take a laxative preparation that will ensure clearance of your colon. You will be able to take medications that you usually take prior to the exam. You will require a ride since you will not be able to drive for the rest of the day following the procedure. Please let us know if you have had difficulties with sedation or anaesthetic agents in the past. You will be carefully monitored before, during and after the procedure.
